  Screenshot Game Time (Gmod)

When in game, take a screenshot using F12.
Either exit the game or shift+tab and click on screenshots.
Select the screenshot and click upload. 
Select the screenshot and click view online. 
When you see the pop up with the screenshot and the comments on the side, click on the screenshot again, it'll expand with just the screenshot in a new window. Highlight and ctrl+c the URL at the top, or right-click on it and go copy page URL.
Copy the URL - something like http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.co...E0B946222/

Then use the IMG tag to show it: [img.]http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.co...E0B946222/[/img]
Remove the . (period) and it should show up.

Welcome to The Rusty Cutlass. 

We are glad to have you here, but before you get into using awesome things like the shoutbox, you must have written one post, somewhere in the forums. It is ideal that you write an introduction thread. You can do this by going into the forum called "Introductions" and looking for the "Post Thread" button in the top right. 

It's worth noting, that our community requires that you hold the rank of trusted for 1 week before applying for administrator. More information is in the admin application.

Any administrator may be proposed for the rank of super admin, by any REGULAR player. I.e. Any player who doesn't hold a admin position. 

Some threads which you may find important are:
Help Page -- Useful for understanding how to navigate/use the forums.
Chain of command -- Useful to see where you sit, it is important that when you have an issue, you take it up with the next administrator above you. 
Shoutbox Commands -- More so for staff, but good to know what you can do, and what they can do to you Wink
DarkRP Trusted App -- Trusted Application for our DarkRP Server
TTT Trusted App -- Trusted Application for our TTT Server

  General Terminology

Hey all,
I thought I'd spend some time outlining general forums terminology for newer/uneducated users. 

  1. What's what?
    • On the forums, you have categories, forums, sub forums and child forums. 
    • The forums refers to the entire page, all of the sub/child/forums and categories combined together to create the forums, collectively.

    • Categories are used to categorise(duh) forums, and group them together. "Global". "Servers", and "Miscellaneous" are all examples of categories. 

    • Each section inside the category on the index page (http://therustycutlass.com/forums/index.php) is a forum. E.g. "The Dump", "Memes" and "Austin's Blog" are examples of forums. 

    • Sub forums and child forums are the same thing, visibly MyBB (the forum base) calls them sub forums for regular users, but for administrators in the control panel they are called child forums. Sub forums are any forum created inside a forum, which is inside a category, being their children. In the forum DarkRP, "General Discussion", "Suggestions and Ideas" and "Tutorials And How To's" are examples of child forums. Any sub/child forums created in there will also be children. Note: There is no such thing as grandchild forums.
  2. Navigating the forums
    • Instead of using forward and backward buttons in your browser, you can click the navigation bar on the page to go back a step or two.
    • You should see "TheRustyCutlass / Miscellaneous / General Help and How To's / General Terminology" And clicking either of the first three will take you back. First to the forum, then the category, then the index. 
    • Clicking on the logo also takes you back to the index.
  3. Mycode
    • The last thing that you might want to know about, which doesn't really fall under terminology, doesn't need it's own thread, is MyCode. MyCode is MyBB's HTML converted to be used in the forums. It may be difficult to learn if you don't know any HTML, but it's fairly simple.

  Australian Timezones

Hi all,
Time for a lesson in time zones. It seems to me that not a whole lot of you know which timezone you're in, or know it sometimes... 

Daylight saving:
For those who choose to remain blisfully ignorant because they don't live in a state where it occurs, daylight saving is in SA, NSW, VIC, and TAS. It happens in Winter (I believe) and it involves -1 hour, altering the timezone of the state. 

Western Australia:
All of WA except for a small portion in the south east is AWST / GMT +8, the other chunk is ACWST / GMT +8:45

Northern Territory:
All of the Northern Territory is ACST / GMT +9:30

South Australia
All of SA is ACST / GMT +930 (Winter) +1030 (Summer)

Queensland:
All of QLD is AEST / GMT +10

New South Whales:
All of NSW is AEST / GMT +10 (Winter) +11 (Summer)

Victoria:
All of VIC is AEST / GMT +10 (Winter) +11 (Summer)

Tasmania:
All of TAS is AEST / GMT +10 (Winter) +11 (Summer)

Summary Notes:
GMT stands for Greenwich Mean Time, and UTC stands for Universal Time Coordinated. GMT and UTC are interchangeable. 
WA, NT, and QLD all don't have daylight saving. 
It isn't reliable to state that your timezone is AEST, because if you live in QLD it is an hour off of the other 3 states.


  Adding Servers To Favorites(Gmod)

Adding Servers To Favorites

This is a guide on how you put servers that you like in to your favorites tab; so you don't have to go hunting for them in the usual menu.

Step 1.
            Open multiplayer tab
Step 2. 
            Open legacy browser
Step 3.
            Go to the history tab
Step 4. 
            Right click the server you want to add to favorites
Step 5.
            Exit multiplayer tab and click on the favorites tab.

Any player may propose a staff member/s of their choice to be promoted to Super Admin. To do so, they must fill in the following template, following all the requirements needed. Head Admins+ will then discuss the promotion of players and either accept an application or deny a promotion.

There can be a minimum of 1 person and a maximum of 4 people proposed in one application.

Requirements to be Admin

  • You have at least 24 hours in game according to U-Time (Screenshot required)
  • You follow this application to the letter
  • You are at least 15 years of age
  • You have held a donator or trusted rank for no less then 1 week
  • You use style formatting (minimum: bold the questions)
  • You have made at least 20 posts on the forums (don't bump old threads or "farm" posts).
  • Include the Template, Definitions, Situations and Declaration in your application
Tips and suggestions to get accepted
  • You are liked by both the community and staff
  • You're a nice and likable person
  • You know and follow all our server rules
  • You haven't been in trouble on any of our servers before
  • Past experience with administrating or moderating servers.
  • Experience with using ULX, the Garry's Mod administration menu
  • Remove everything in brackets in the application
Things you should know
  • If you get accepted you will be asked to participate in a small ts3/in game meeting.
  • The deciding process can last for up to 3 days
  • You will automatically be demoted for long term unexplained absence
