Big Money Salvia Admin Application - Joesmyname - 03-09-2017

Information

1. What is your Steam name?:
They call me One Love Salv, True Love Represent, Cash Money Sweets, Big Money Salvia (It's just Big Money Salvia)

2. What is your Steam ID?:
My steam ID is STEAM_0:0:38810849

3. How old are you?:
I am 20 years old until September.

4. What is your current time in server and how often do you play?:
My current server time is 1d 09h 21m. I play after work every day on weekdays, and I finish at 10PM Monday-Thursday and 6PM Friday. I usually play for about 2-3 hours on weekdays after work, and occasionally in the mornings before work. Weekends and Friday night I can be on anywhere from 0-24 hours each day, as I think sleep is for weaker humans and weaker humans shouldn't be allowed to be admin.

5. What time zone are you in?:
I live in NSW so my time is AEST.

6. Introduce yourself to us (tell us about your skills, hobbies, ambitions):
My skills outside of gaming (lol like I have skills at gaming) are all supported by my hobbies. I love to drive and work on cars, and owning pretty cars. As well as that, I have a small hobby of picking locks which I hope to practice more and become an expert. My other hobbies currently involve learning Spanish and I think I am doing quite well at the moment! As far as any other skills, I feel I am pretty good at my job as an electrician! My biggest ambition is to save money working in Sydney for a few years and using that money to live somewhere else in the work without working for 6 months, before returning to Sydney, saving up, and doing it again.

7. What experience do you have with administration?:
Never done server administration but my job outside of work has me dealing with a lot of people, both managers higher up, and trying to help the apprentices below me. I am constantly working to be part of a team to make sure everything runs smoothly.

8. What makes you feel like you should be accepted than another applicant?:
A big thing I feel I have to offer is an easy to talk to, calm, reasonable personality. My current experience with everyone I have met in the server has always been a positive experience. I feel I am easily approachable for help and that I can get along with anyone with only a short time knowing them. I feel this is not only important to new players, but essential for frequent players to know that they will be treated fairly and will want to return to the server in future.

9. How are you going to improve our server?:
I aim to have a great relationship with all other staff and would love to put forward all my ideas, both good and terrible, in hopes that some of those ideas can be beneficial to everyone. I hope that I can be welcomed as part of the staff so that they all have a slightly easier and more entertaining job when I am around.

10. What makes you trustworthy?:
It's hard to say what makes a person trustworthy without showing evidence, as both a trustworthy person and a liar with say they can be trusted. For my evidence, as a stranger on the internet, I'd like to direct you to my profile's bio. I feel this shows that I am a very open and honest person with everything about me, and I am absolutely 0% bullshit when it comes to talking with anyone. If I fuck up, I'll come forward, if I don't, I'll continue going the way I am.

11. Have you ever been punished on the server and if so why?:
I see this question and wonder who can honestly answer no. I see one-off RDMing on the same level as peeing in the shower or picking your nose. We've all done it. As far as anything more serious, I've been a total good noodle.

12. Name someone's steam name who can support your application?:
Mordred I'm putting you forward buddy, sorry for the pressure. Other people will be happy to vouch for me, but I like Mordred. Also I'd almost put Kortari down but I think you decide these things so I feel it's redundant.

Situations

13. You have noticed that a staff member is abusing his powers and RDMing because he/she thinks he/she is invincible as an admin. Do you feel that this is right? If not, what would you do in this situation?
First of all I need to point out that I feel this is completely wrong and an abuse of not only their powers, but also abuse of the trust of Kortari for selecting this person. In this situation, I feel I wouldn't be in any position to ban a fellow admin, so I would collect all evidence I could, talk to the admin, write it all down, and report to Kortari for her to determine the result of this situation.

14. A young player joins that does not quite understand how to play, how do you show/teach the player how to play?
Step #1 would be to read the standard (F1) rules. I'll get them to play a couple rounds like this to get an understanding of how all Innocent, Detective, and Traitor roles are played, and once I feel they have the hang of it I'd direct them to the server (!motd) rules. I'd be as open to answering questions as possible, and be aware of possible mistakes that they may make without realising and direct them on the correct way to do things.

15. One of the players on the server starts to impersonate yourself/another admin. How would you deal with this player?
Other admins may have different opinions on this, but my view is this; there is no way a person can impersonate any admin without realising they are breaking the rules and therefore should have a zero tolerance ban placed on them for a week at minimum. I am aware that they gain no power from impersonation, however it is impossible to write this off as a 'simple mistake' or 'not understanding the rules'.

16. You are on the forums and you notice a player being abused by others in the shout box and threads. Are you in control of this/is this your problem to worry about.
I don't have as much control as someone higher up, however I have complete control over what I say. I would try and defuse the situation if it was a misunderstanding/and argument between the two that got out of hand. If this fails I would contact someone higher up to enforce the rules. On the other hand, if this wasn't a misunderstanding and just a clear cut case of bulling, I would immediately contact someone higher up to remove this person from the forums. I also understand that this is does not solve the entire issue, and therefore I would be talking to the victim to see if they are okay and if they need someone to talk to.

Declaration

Big Money Salvia acknowledge the requirements and prerequisites that are needed to become the rank of 'Admin' in the community. I recognise that this is a trusted rank held by only a few and by submitting this application I promise not to devote my time to other competing communities. I acknowledge that I must administrate this server under the rules written by the Owner and I strive to promote a fun to play server with minimal discrimination.

I don't know who you are in-game but I haven't played a lot recently. You have a decent application and I will support your application if you get supported by others who know you in-game. If you do get accepted, find the admin guidelines because impersonation doesn't result in an immediate ban in our rules. But apart from that, good well structured and detailed application.

RE: Big Money Salvia Admin Application - Mordred - 03-10-2017

Nice guy, fun to play with, donated so it shows he cares. Did well on his application, as in to say he put a lot of effort into it. I'm not sure about the whole banning for impersonating as they don't gain anything from it so a 'warning --> kick' would show you meant business, especially since 90% of the time it'll just be someone having a joke. Pretty reasonable, helps out when he can, can stay calm. Already friends with a bunch of admins and regular players. Has real world experience that can assist his temperament looking at situations. Mature. He's on a lot later than most when there are still about 4-12 players, not often are many admins on at that time and his presence would be great.
Overall I think people listen to him and support him. He's probably the next person who can handle it. If you were to awarded this honour, without any previous knowledge moderating experience your trial week would be a big learning experience. Would involve learning ulx commands, consequences for certain actions and admin rules, how to see metagaming players or ones who are using hacks, unbiased moderating and the F8 report menu. A lot of that, before becoming an admin, is not common knowledge. It'll be a lot to take in but I think he would definitely be able to handle it.

+1 Good luck.

RE: Big Money Salvia Admin Application - Joesmyname - 03-10-2017

Heart Heart Heart Loving all the support guys! I'll definitely read the rules a bit more in depth when I get a chance to clarify some things that I may have not known or wasn't sure on, but I appreciate the positivity and feedback Smile

RE: Big Money Salvia Admin Application - Kortari - 03-10-2017

I don't know. Part of me knows you posted the worst trusted app ive seen, and in game you were a bit of a troll. So my question is, are you actually admin material? Could you handle the reports in a proper manner instead of goofing around, and will you listen to me as the higher authority. I know we encourage to be engaging with the community but you cant let those friendships get in the way of punishing them if they step out of line.

Yeah look the trusted application was my late night attempt of showing you guys who I am and a bit of my personality, without a full intention of becoming an admin. I suppose all this comes down to you and the rest of the community of what your guy's opinion is on if I'll do a good job.

In my admin application, I feel it proves that I am very capable of taking this position seriously, and I assure you I am fully aware of you being the higher authority, and will do my absolute best to ensure that all rules are followed, and all punishments are fair and unbiased.

I suppose this all comes down to me trying to prove to you and everyone else that I'll be an exceptional admin, and realistically I feel this is what the trial period is for. Ultimately though, this is all up to you, and I respect whichever decision you make.

RE: Big Money Salvia Admin Application - WILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL (2) - 03-10-2017

Look man, you're a fucken classic, a real character to have around and I have no problem with you.
Clearly some good effort went into this application, and your answers do me fine.
As far as I can tell you don't have any glaring flaws or major problems with authority.
+1 good luck.

RE: Big Money Salvia Admin Application - Seathed - 03-11-2017

I am doubtful of you but I guess that is what the trial period is for. Good luck, but I'm staying neutral.
