My Suggestion Is To Add Different Donation Payment Methods V Such As V
>Credit Cards
>Steam Wallet (If Possible)

As Not All Of Us Have Paypal

Kind Regards, Daniel

Interesting idea.. But with steam wallet that really isn't a payment to keep the servers running, it'll just buy them some fancy games. And i'm almost positive you can't transfer steam wallet money anyway.

And for credit card, well you could use it to set up a paypal account as long as a bank account is attached to said card. And it's a little dodgy to pay with a credit card because at the end of the day it could be anyones card. At least with paypal it's almost guaranteed to not be a fraud.
Disregard most of the above ^
Steam wallet money isn't transferrable at all. I've delved into steam API once. Never again. And as Kortari says, giving us steam games is all fine and dandy, but I can't pay for the servers in steam games, so that's not very helpful. Yes I could probably sell them in a marketplace like G2A, but that seems like a waste of time, by the time they take all their fees and pull it to my paypal, send it to TRC's one and so on. It's not worth doing.

If you have a credit or debit card, it's simple enough to setup a PayPal account, and if you don't have one already it's highly recommended. PayPal are world renowned for their security and efficiency. They also have a very advanced API and sandbox system which allows us to do everything we need to obtain donations. Also we run all of our donations through a 3rd party system such as PayPal for our own security, as opposed to yours. At the end of the day I couldn't care less if you stole a credit card to donate, it doesn't affect us at all.

I'm not sure if you've ever heard of PayPal scams wherein the consumer purchases goods/services and then makes false claims against the organisation that they purchased said goods/services from, and asked for a refund. Every now and then people are successful in these scams, but not here. We've had a few donators in the past decide this was a good idea, and because they were probably so dumb they were sitting in a pile of their own shit, they didn't care to read the terms of service when donating. It's similar to a EULA/privacy policy. It was carefully constructed and cleared by PayPal to prevent us from being scammed or wronged in such a way.

Yes, this would still apply if you were to pay via a credit or debit card directly, and it's harder for people to claim false purchases via a credit card, because usually you have to deal with the organisation directly, but some banks try to help customers deal with these issues, which would force me to tackle them head on.

Also, PayPal is pretty great, but not quite 10/10 in that you wouldn't be able to donate via a card to the TRC paypal account, which means I'd have to setup a bank account (or use one of mine) in my name, which you don't need to know Smile Or setup one for TRC and legitimize it as a business, declare donations as income and be taxed on them. Which no one wants. This is also a lengthy process and requires lots of forms and bullshitting around.

All in all, it's far easier to use PayPal, it's safe, secure and flexible enough. Hope this answers some questions and fills some gaps.
This thread should be in general suggestions and ideas because it applies to the whole community Big Grin

Oh and I forgot to mention, if you don't have a credit or debit card, you can link your bank account and use eCheques, it takes a day or so for the money to be withdrawn from your bank account, but it shouldn't be too much of a hassle, as long as you don't mind waiting a day or two to set it up.
