Hey all, just got a few suggestions. Enjoy…

Add:
  • T Knife: Works as a standard knife, but with the ability to turn a non-Traitor into, you guessed it, a Traitor. It would need to cost a large amount of points though, say like 5.
  • Leaderboard: There's one for Deathmatch, so a leaderboard for actual TTT would be pretty nifty as well. e.g. http://www.gametracker.com/server_info/1...p_players/
  • Cannibalism: This is a good way to kill two birds with one stone. It would simultaneously heal the Traitor, as there’s actually no way to do so currently, and remove the devoured body from the game, as nothing does this either.

Adjust:
  • Defibrillator: Remove for Detectives, have is as a Traitor only item. It doesn't really make any sense for non-Traitors to be able to use this item considering if brought back to life the non-Traitors could essentially ghost.
  • Flare Gun: I’m pretty certain that this has been brought up already, but it currently says that it's supposed to burn bodies yet it doesn’t, and so it’s just redundant due to the Dragon Eagle.
The problem with the t knife is if I jack up the credits it costs to buy it, it wouldn't be more than ~3 credits. You start with 2 or 3, and that means as a T you can't buy anything (not even armor) and have to choose the person you want to turn carefully. After selection you need to pull out what (i assume) appears to be a knife and stab them with it. The problem this poses is that peoples reaction is to shoot you, regardless of how quick a knife will kill someone. When death doesn't come, they'll still assume its coming and shoot you anyway. But your role has been changed, and this is now RDM. Also, I'm not sure if in damagelogs it will mark when they were innocent and when they were traitor. Perhaps it switches the whole round to what they are at the end of it? In which case they can RDM someone and be reported, have a traitor switch them, and then it shows up that they didn't.

Leaderboard as in tracking score, kills and deaths? I can look into implementing this. There is "score" in tab which gets logged to gametracker. http://www.gametracker.com/server_info/1...p_players/
Someone remind me to look at UGB, Gban or sourcebans.

I'm not sure how I feel about traitors being able to heal themselves. I've never used cannibalism personally, but I assume it has unlimited uses? If so, after you've killed 1 person, you heal up, kill the next, heal up, etc. Unlimited health? There is a pointshop powerup you can purchase that will heal you slowly (i like it slow Wink
We definitely do need something to remove bodies. Not sure when the flaregun stopped doing this... Will look into it.

I like your note about innocents/detectives being able to ghost. Bear in mind it is against the rules, and common sense. It is banable, so its at admin's discretion. But in the event that I'm the detective, natjosh has been killed and is innocent. I'm facing 5 traitors and am barricaded in a room with his corpse. I'd like to res him and have him fight it out with me. It can be useful.. If more people share your opinion, we'll have a vote.

I'm fairly sure the flaregun doesn't even set people on fire on contact. So it is completely useless. As addressed above, it will either be touched up or removed.

I'll confer with Seathed and we'll look at addressing these. Thank you for your suggestions.
Thanks for the reply, so just to clarify a few things...
  • The reason the T knife costs so much is to make it balanced, so yes, you have to decide carefully from the get-go who you want to turn into a T and then acquire enough credits to purchase the item (by killing non-Traitors and not spending credits). So this is a strategy you need to plan out, as opposed to it being a situational item.
  • And to fix the 'RDM' problem, I would recommend a pop-up window, similar to that of the random drop, which informs you that you've been turned into a T.
  • Cannibalism would have to be single use item, otherwise it would be unbalanced as you've stated, in addition to it making a distinct sound and a fair bit of time to 'devour' the body. The trade off, of course, would be health and removing the body.
Everything else I'm in accord with, so thanks again.  Smile

Edit: Oh, and with the T Knife damagelogs, I can't quite remember how that worked so you'd have to test it out for yourself. Tongue
